Hi, I’m Kim…

…owner and tour guide here at Merlot et Moi, and when I’m not working, I find joy in walking or running through the vineyards with my dog, Marvel. The seasons and colours are forever changing, offering something new and enchanting all year round. This connection to the landscape not only grounds me but also continually inspires my work with Merlot et Moi.

I have a deep love for art and architecture, and I am always excited to explore new art galleries and exhibitions in the area. The wineries and some of the new châteaux here often showcase stunning works of art, blending the beauty of winemaking with artistic expression.

Living in France, I am fortunate to enjoy some of the finest produce. The melons and seasonal fruits available at the local markets are exceptional, adding a fresh and vibrant touch to everyday life. And, when I indulge, I have a particular fondness for Dune Blanche from the coast or a delightful Clafoutis Cerise.

Where we tour

Our private wine tours will take you on a bespoke journey through the picturesque regions of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol - known as 'the hill of a thousand châteaux'. The properties are small here, and many are still family-owned, with the region’s most expensive wines found here, including Petrus.

  • Our journey together begins with a quick consultation call to understand your expectations and preferences for your trip. During this call, we will discuss:

    • Wine Preferences: We’ll enquire about your wine preferences and level of wine knowledge to personalise your itinerary and select the most suitable châteaux for you.

    • Dining Options: We’ll ask about your lunch preferences and dietary requirements to find the perfect place for you to enjoy the finest French cuisine.

    • Special Occasions: Whether your trip is a holiday or a special occasion, we love adding that extra touch to make your experience truly memorable.

  • After getting to know you better, we will create a personalised itinerary tailored to your preferences. This will include:

    • Private Wine Experiences: Coordinating visits to châteaux and arranging exclusive wine tastings.

    • Transport Arrangements: Organising seamless transport options to ensure your comfort and convenience.

    • Dining Reservations: Making reservations at selected restaurants or organising picnic lunches to enhance your culinary experience.

    We will then share the proposed plan with you for feedback. Any modifications will be made to finalise the itinerary. Before you arrive in France, you will receive an email with all the finer details of our day together.
